My Journey Wasn’t Straight… But It Was Worth It

13 years. Countless setbacks. A dream that refused to die.
This is the story of becoming a nurse, a mother to a child with autism, and a woman who kept going anyway.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

I didn’t take the easy path.
In fact, nothing about my journey was easy.

I started with a dream—to become a nurse and build a better life. Like many immigrants, I believed that if I worked hard enough, everything would fall into place.

But life had other plans.

There were delays.
There were years of waiting.
There were moments I almost gave up.

Still… I kept going.

The 13 Year Journey

What most people don’t see is the time it took.

Not months.
Not a couple of years.
Thirteen years.

Years filled with:

  • Uncertainty

  • Visa delays

  • Emotional exhaustion

  • Watching others move ahead while I stood still

There were moments when I questioned everything:
“Is this even meant for me?”

But something inside me refused to quit.

THE DETOUR THAT CHANGE ME

Becoming a mother was one of the most beautiful parts of my life.
But it also came with unexpected challenges.

My child was diagnosed with autism.

And suddenly, I wasn’t just chasing my dreams anymore…
I was learning how to fight for someone else’s.

Life as an Autism Mom

Being an autism mom changed everything.

It taught me:

  • Patience I never knew I had

  • Strength I didn’t think was possible

  • Love in its deepest, rawest form

There were hard days.
Days filled with worry, confusion, and exhaustion.

But there were also victories—small ones that meant everything.

And through it all, I kept showing up

After years of waiting, struggling, and pushing forward…

I finally made it.

I became a nurse.

Not because the path was easy.
But because I refused to give up.

That moment wasn’t just a career milestone—
It was proof that persistence matters.

Becoming a Nurse (The Breakthrough)
Life doesn’t follow a straight line.

Along the way, I faced detours I never expected—ones that didn’t just challenge my plans, but reshaped who I am.

I created this space because I know I’m not alone.

There are others:

  • Waiting

  • Struggling

  • Feeling stuck

  • Questioning their path
